Time to give thanks

I really like the color combo on this set. These are such warm fall colors and fall is my favorite time of year. Some people don't like fall because it means the death of summer flowers. I love to take drives in the country or on the interstates to see all the colors of fall when the leaves change. They are so pretty. Of course with falling leaves comes the raking, but just think of all those piles of leaves that the kiddos can run through and jump in. Can you just see them throwing them in the air and the leaves falling back down? Ahhh.... good memories.

More Scrapbooking ....

Here is a two page layout for Christmas that is also 8X8. Sometimes I find this layout size the easiest and quickest to do, although the 12X12 pages hold more pictures. If I need to do a book in a hurry for someone, I will do the smaller pages, plus the smaller size books are easier to store too. I find the journaling on the pages to be the most difficult part of the scrapbooking process for me. I just don't seem to take the time to that when I do the pages and so I have to eventually dedicate time to go back and do that so the book is completely finished.

Scrapbooking pages again ....ahhh....

I have missed creating pages. I have done so many cards lately that I have started having scrapbook withdrawals. But I am back to doing just that again and it feels great. However, these pages that I will be posting this week were all done for a swap so maybe I'm not officially scrapbooking again, yet.
These are 8X8 pages and as you can tell these have a Halloween theme. I have so many pictures of Halloween with  my grandbabies and my own girls that would go really good with this layout. Now I just have to decide which lucky pictures go here. Decisions, decisions, decisions........

The bats and spooky eyes were created using punches. My oldest daughter likes these pages the best of all the pages I will be posting this week. Those eyes are kinda creeping me out ...... Wooowhaaaaa!!!!!

Deck the halls with boughs of holly........

Here's the final card...... Christmas! I had a difficult time with making this card. I couldn't really decide what I wanted to do here. I had an idea that just took a long time to fruition, but I am happy with the end result. I never really thought I using red and brown for a Christmas card, but I have decided that it's a great combination for the holiday. I have been using reds, browns, and golds for my home decorating. My favorite color for years has always been shades of green, but this new combo is really growing on me. I hope you enjoy the card.

A Day of Gratitude

Here's the second card in the Holiday series... Thanksgiving. How many of us really take the time during that holiday to reflect on how thankful we are? I don't just think about at that time of year. I think about it often, especially when life hits me with a hard punch that almost knocks me down. I then remember how blessed I am and how thankful I am that the people in my life are there.... family, friends, neighbors and the people who just seem to be there without you really thinking about it. Like the lady in the school line when you pick up your child or grandchild from school who keeps them safe until you get to them or how about a coworker who always says hi when they see you and ask how you are doing. Those are special people too that we should be thankful for. That coworker's acknowledgement would be missed if they were not there anymore. I am also thankful for all my stampin friends. Okay that's enough seriousness for now. Hope you enjoy the card!

WOW!!!

This card is the start of a series of holiday themed cards that I have been making. The first of course is for Halloween. I love Halloween, but not for the scary stuff. I don't like to be scared. My mom's birthday is on Halloween and that makes it special for me. I love passing out candy to the kiddos and I especially like taking the grandbabies out trick or treating. I hope you like this card, because some of you may get this one in the mail from me. HeHeHe...
I saw that I now have 102 followers and that is just so awesome. I never dreamed that I would have that many following me. Of course that also means 102 more blogs for me to check out the great ideas posted there. Have a good holiday weekend all and be safe!

Blue, Silver, & White

This card is for that same SWAP for the card I posted yesterday, only it had to be Blue, Silver, and White. I think  these colors made a really pretty card. You can't tell it by the picture, but the top layer is silver and the ornaments are dimensional and have been embossed with white detail powder. The sentiment has been stamped on white cardstock and layered underneath the silver cardstock with a punched window for it to show through. I like this card a lot and can really see myself making many of these for the holidays.

Happy Stampin, ya'll!!!! :~)

Red, Green, Gold

Here's another choice for a Christmas card. I actually made this for a SWAP that I am participating in that required the cards to be made with the colors Red, Green, & Gold. I added some vanilla to separate the red and green colors and also so that I could add matching ribbon to the card as well. It's simple but pretty.
Hope you enjoy it.

Happy Stampin, ya'll!!!! :~)

Recycling 101

This card was created for that monthly SMAK that I do.
I used empty toilet tissue tubes to create this card. I got
the idea from another lady who had created a toilet
tissue book using 4 tubes, a key ring and jumbo eyelets.
I have a houseful of people and three bathrooms and still
I had to ask my neighbors for help collecting these tubes.
Can you believe that? LOL

Happy Stampin, ya'll!!! :~)

Tri-shutter card

This was my first attempt at a Tri-shutter card. I made this one for my mom. She loved it. I like mixing pinks and browns together, I think that they make such beautiful cards. I have been a little too busy lately to post here, but hopefully I will get back into the swing of things this week. The thing is with this card design there are so many ways to go with the decorating. I hope you enjoy this one.

Happy Stampin, ya'll!!! :~)
